Figure Study - Seated Female Nude by Florence Camm

This life drawing is one of a number of studies of the same model by the artist. Whilst at the School of Art, Camm worked in all media very much in the Arts and Crafts tradition, and studied for all stages of the National Course of Instruction. This life drawing shows a female model in profile seated on a stool with her hands behind her back and is a work for Stage 8c - human or animal figures from the nude model. The work is signed and dated in the top right corner and the embossed "ESK" stamp is visible towards the bottom left corner, indicating that the work was sent to South Kensington for examination. An original printed label in red ink records that the work formed part of her studies for the Art Masters Certificate.
