Nude by Neil Shawcross

Neil Shawcross's approach to the subject of this particular painting is in keeping with the distinctive style of his work. The female figure is treated with few prejudices and analysed as a pure and natural form. The juxtaposition of the warmly coloured figure and the cool green background emphasises the nude as a living form. The muted tones invoke a relaxed atmosphere throughout the painting and release any unnecessary tension surrounding the figure.
